This exceptional example of antique rugs from the late Qing Dynasty captures the refined aesthetic of the period, prioritizing open space and sophisticated color palettes over dense pattern work.

The central field is dominated by a rich, deeply saturated indigo, characteristic of the finest Peking dyes used during this era. This magnificent shade, which places it among the most sought-after blue color rugs, provides a dramatic and regal backdrop for the delicate, scattered motifs.

Across the expansive blue ground, highly stylized sprays of peach and pale blue blossoms drift, embodying the traditional Chinese appreciation for natural asymmetry and negative space. The careful placement of these designs ensures that the eye is drawn across the entire composition, a hallmark of superior floral rugs from the region.

Framed by a broad, ivory border featuring subtle cloud bands and stylized landscape elements, this piece is woven on a scale that makes it suitable for grand interiors. Its generous dimensions classify it among the most desirable room size rugs of its era, offering both historical integrity and enduring decorative presence. See less
