This exquisite piece represents the finest tradition of early 20th-century Chinese weaving. The deep indigo field provides a dramatic backdrop for the delicate blush-toned border, typical of high-quality antique rugs from this period.

The central field is dominated by a rich, saturated navy, a hallmark of desirable blue color rugs that retain their depth after a century of use. Scattered across this dark expanse are stylized vases and flowering branches, culminating in a graceful central floral medallion executed in soft ivory and pale blue accents.

The complexity of the design is most evident in the wide primary border, which features classic Chinese iconography such as stylized pagodas and bamboo stalks. These elements frame the composition, complementing the overall elegant structure and reinforcing the delicate nature of the floral rugs pattern.

Woven with a luxurious wool pile, this hand-knotted textile offers exceptional durability and a soft texture underfoot. Its substantial dimensions classify it as a true room size rugs, capable of anchoring a formal living space or grand dining hall with historical gravitas and sophisticated color. See less
