The top is composed of a thick walnut plank, with a secondary board later added along one side — a period adjustment that slightly extends the surface width. The underside shows traditional pegged joinery, reinforcing the piece’s early 19th-century construction.

The carved base features serpentine scroll legs with lyre influence, joined by a pierced stretcher with scalloped curves, and a cross brace that adds both visual interest and stability. The legs terminate in spherical feet, giving the piece a grounded, architectural presence. A small iron hook affixed beneath the top suggests a later domestic use, possibly in a hallway or entry setting.

With its warm, aged patina and expressive silhouette, this table works beautifully as a console, side table, or statement piece against a wall. Its provincial Baroque style lends historical character to both traditional and collected interiors. See less
