This elegant 1970s French Louis XVI Corbeille settee combines a richly carved beechwood frame with deep coffee-brown velvet and a distinctive decorative textile panel. Artisan-crafted in France, the piece has a graceful curved silhouette and compact proportions, making it both a comfortable seat and an eye-catching decorative accent.
The carved frame reflects the refined character of Louis XVI Revival furniture, with floral motifs, scrolling ornamentation, beaded borders, and balanced neoclassical proportions. It has been professionally refinished in a warm antique-gold finish, which emphasizes the carved details and gives the settee a softly luminous appearance.
The upholstery has been professionally renewed in luxurious coffee-brown velvet. Deep tufting across the seating areas and arm panels adds texture and comfort, while the reverse is finished in smooth coordinating velvet for an attractive presentation from different angles.
A central decorative panel provides the artistic focal point. It features a romantic 19th-century-inspired interior scene with elegantly dressed figures, pressed directly onto a cotton-silk blend fabric.
