A pair of French Art Deco armchairs in carved giltwood, from a suite of four commonly attributed to Paul Follot, … Read more A pair of French Art Deco armchairs in carved giltwood, from a suite of four commonly attributed to Paul Follot, made especially for the Paris Chamber of Commerce, then located in the Halle aux Blés, Paris (now the Bourse de Commerce, Pinault Collection). Curved backs with very wide seats, grooved front legs on olive-shaped glides rising to scrolled armrests, rear legs forming the backrest uprights underlined with mouldings, crenellated seat rails punctuated with circular lozenges. Seats, backs and arms reupholstered in blue velvet. Early 1920s. Condition: Fair condition; upholstery not original, gilding worn and missing in places, scattered bumps and minor damages consistent with age This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
