The crisp white marble top, naturally veined and cool to the touch, is cradled within a delicate brass-trimmed surround that adds a glint of gilded sophistication to the composition, while the richly figured mahogany column and splayed legs below have developed a deep, warm patina over more than a century of distinguished domestic service. A graceful lower display shelf — practical, elegant, and perfectly proportioned — completes the silhouette with an architectural lightness that prevents the piece from ever feeling heavy or overwrought. Compact yet commanding, this pedestal table is one of the most versatile and sought-after forms in the world of Continental antique furniture — equally beautiful as a lamp table, a drinks stand, a plant pedestal, or a bedside table in a room of exceptional refinement. Sourced from Belgium, a truly distinguished example of 19th century Belgian neoclassical furniture at its most graceful. See less
