This exceptional piece captures the transitional elegance of the early 20th century, merging traditional Eastern motifs with the streamlined geometry characteristic of the Art Deco movement. It is a stunning example among antique rugs from this highly collectible era.

The palette is defined by a striking contrast: a vibrant coral field, densely filled with stylized, scrolling foliage, is dramatically framed by a wide, solid black outer border. The use of deep black color rugs provides a powerful anchor to the otherwise warm and luminous central design.

Secondary accents of soft blue, sage green, and deep burgundy punctuate the inner border, which features stepped corners and bold, stylized chrysanthemums. The central field pattern utilizes a subtle tone-on-tone variation of coral, creating depth and texture within the meticulously woven wool pile.

Woven with luxurious, high-quality wool, this textile offers both visual impact and enduring durability. Its substantial dimensions make it an ideal choice for defining a main living area or dining space, representing the finest examples of room size rugs from the Art Deco period. See less
