Four transparent columnar supports give the piece an airy architectural quality, while the bronze elements provide a strong decorative contrast.

Each corner is surmounted by a finely modeled ram’s head, a motif closely associated with Neoclassical and Empire design. The legs terminate in cast cloven hoof feet, while slender bronze rails form the rectangular upper frame. Below, additional stretchers reinforce the base, including diagonal cross-bracing joined by a small decorative central element.

The bronze has been given a distinctive green verdigris-style patina, with areas of darker metal visible throughout and particularly attractive variation across the ram’s heads, feet and rails. The clear Lucite legs provide a lighter, more contemporary counterpoint to the traditional classical ornament.

An unusual and highly decorative console base offering a sophisticated combination of transparent Lucite and sculptural patinated metal.
