Offering an exceptionally decorative early 20th Century hanging lamp featuring a cylindrical mica shade underneath a pierced patinated brass overlay.
Wow.
The repeating Gothic-inspired foliate and pointed-arch motifs create a beautiful interplay of light and shadow when illuminated, producing a particularly warm glow.
The shade is finished with twisted rope brass borders and an ornate pierced crown. Three decorative, antique brass chains connect the shade to an elaborate, organic-styled French two-toned brass canopy, Ca. 1920. Equally suited for use in an Arts and Crafts interior or an eclectic traditional setting. Perfect for the serious antique lighting collector.
One standard American brass keyless socket holds one bulb of whatever wattage you care to employ. No limits, as generated heat disperses through the wide opening at the top of the shade. Rewired with new electrical cord. Hanging down about 20 inches (chain links can easily be removed); diameter of the shade, about 9 1/2 inches.
The open-work canopy is particularly attractive. A creative/skilled electrician can cover the electrical box with a thin metal circular "box cover" painted the same color as the ceiling, if that's important.
