The tall architectural base features a substantial column decorated with deeply textured, machine-chased detailing, framed by polished brass bands and raised on a broad flared circular foot. The aged brass finish has developed an attractive natural patina that gives the piece considerable depth and period character. Above the column is a stepped brass gallery supporting a large hand-moulded glass shade in delicate pink and white tones. Its gently stepped empire form and subtle mottled appearance create a warm, diffused illumination while providing an elegant contrast to the sculptural brass base. The lamp retains period fittings including a b22 bayonet bulb holder and bakelite components. Its combination of decorative metalwork, strong proportions and softly coloured glass makes it particularly suitable as a statement lamp for a console, side table or sophisticated period interior.
