Pair of large covered baluster vases, in sea green marble veined with white and with chased and gilded bronze mountings.
The base with cut sides supports a fluted pedestal, carved with laurel tori. The body is decorated with a frieze of laurel ribbons and flanked by ram's heads. The neck is decorated with knotted garlands suspended from a frieze of meanders.
The lid with doucine is girded with a frieze of gadroons and surmounted by a seeded grip.
Rich in ornamentation, these remarkable vases attract the eye by their undeniable presence.
