This Aesthetic period French Japonisme occasional Bamboo tray table, circa 1880–1890.
The structured base is meticulously crafted from natural mottled tiger bamboo, featuring architectural side fretwork, an elegant X-frame cross-stretcher, and splayed legs resting on small metal-capped feet.
The top features a prominent, circular ebonized wood-rimmed tray enclosing a hand-painted lacquer panel.
The lacquered surface is a Japonisme botanical motifs over a warm red and amber tortoise-glazed ground.
A highly decorative accent piece showcasing the late 19th-century European fascination with Eastern design.
