The table has a hatch opening up to a storage space instead of a drawer and the hatch opens with a metal latch. The latch is original as is the drop leaf table top on the side. The table is in untouched original condition with original paint. Monograms jas and ajd. Swedish last names used to be composed of the first name of the father with -son and -daughter added to the end for sons and daughters respectively. The table is most likely painted for a wedding where the groom's last name began with a and the bride's with j. The table is also dated 1864. Natural wear and authentic patina after 200 years of use. Healthy and solid frame. The table top is 60 by 100 cm with the drop leaf being an additional 32 cm, making the total 92 by 100 cm. Height to rim is 53 cm. See less
