From her sold out Fiori series: Lovely abstract florals by Morgan Walker (Melvin G.) Paint on heavy, hand torn, cotton paper custom-framed in gold-painted wood under gallery acrylic, signed en verso, and ready to hang.
Melvin G. is an adventurous artist who accomplishes a sense of hope and wonder in her works, famously first, her outrageous yet accessible collaged portraits and animals, and now her Italian-style, hand-marbled fantastical florals. These are looser and more mellow than her more recent series.
Her site statement regarding her “droopy flowers”: “Flowers have always been present in my work, but by the end of 2022, they became an obsession. I could not stop thinking about them, and over time, they became my sole subject matter. It was a period of personal and artistic transformation; like flowers, I was experiencing both decay and growth, fragility and resilience.”
A rare set and a terrific price point for her originals. Thanks for your interest and please message me with any questions.
