This classic piece of atomic-era kitsch is crafted from a vibrant, neon-pink translucent plastic shell subtly infused with silver glitter flakes. It features a distinct pagoda-shaped top and a neatly scalloped base.
Suspended inside its clear cylindrical chamber is a contrasting deep blue multi-blade propeller spinner.
Ingeniously designed during the mid-20th century, these "heat-twist" ornaments are engineered to react to the rising warmth of traditional, incandescent Christmas tree light bulbs. When placed directly above a warm bulb, the thermal current captures the propeller, propeller, making it spin. Mid-20th Century (circa 1950s) Molded plastic, metal internal pin, wire hook hanger. Measures 3" Height × 2.25"
Diameter. Excellent vintage condition. The plastic structure is fully intact with no chips or cracks. The internal spinner mechanism rotates freely on its axis, and it retains its original wire hanging hook. Minor age-appropriate wear to the glitter finish. See less
