Both are finished in the intense red glaze that defined so much of 1960s pottery.

the first is a sculptural soliflore with a wide, flattened body that narrows into a fine needle neck, resting on a small raised foot. A graphic, almost architectural silhouette.

the second is a small cylindrical bottle vase with a rolled lip and an unglazed base revealing the raw clay. The bottle still carries a period label from bloemenweelde, a florist in bruges.

shown together, the contrast between the low, spinning-top form and the upright bottle makes for a strong composition on a shelf, sideboard or table. Each piece also stands well on its own.

both vases are unmarked; the attribution is based on form, glaze and bruges provenance.
