This very large sculpture depicts Christ on the cross, his head bowed and his arms outstretched. The figure, carved in white biscuit porcelain, stands out against a dark oak cross, creating a striking contrast between the whiteness of the body and the warmth of the wood. The drapery tied around the hips and the modeling of the figure emphasize the expressive nature of the whole.
Dimensions of the biscuit: H:76cm; L:52cm; W:14cm Provenance : Château de Peyraud, France
