A German a single-handled jug/krug from the Mid-Century era that has a lava glaze with a molded design.
A stoneware vase with a handle and a lava-like dripping brown tone glaze that has pooled where it was caught by the molded patterns. The foot is unglazed. The base is glazed. The interior has a dark brown glaze.
The base has a molded mark that reads W.GERMANY and the number “413-26”. This is the style layout numbering format used by Scheurich Keramik, one of the most prominent producers of West German art pottery during the 1960s and 1970s. The first part (413) represents the specific mold design or shape number (a single-handled jug/krug style). The second part (26) denotes the approximate height of the vessel in centimeters (26 cm translates directly to about 10.23 inches).
