A small green cloisonné vase featuring a subtle but intricately patterned floral and geometric background.
The vase is crafted from copper, with fine brass wires forming an elaborate network of decorative scrollwork filled with green enamel. The detailed cloisonné decoration incorporates traditional Chinese design elements, including plantain leaves, ruyi heads, and flowing foliage. The vase rests on a shallow bronze foot, while the base is left unglazed.
There are no visible marks or labels.
MEASUREMENTS
3 ¼ in (8.3 cm) diameter x 6 ½ in (16.5 cm) tall. Weighs 10.3 oz.
CONDITION
There is a small dent on the copper foot, as well as a small dent in the body right above it. The copper rim has a few spots of discoloration but has otherwise oxidized with a rich natural patina. The cloisonne is still bright and colorful.
Its rich green enamel and intricate traditional motifs make this vase an appealing decorative accent and a fine addition to a collection of Chinese cloisonné or Asian decorative arts.
