Mid Century Modern Bookcase by Heywood Wakefield featuring a distinctive tapered side profile, softly rounded edges, and a warm Champagne finish that highlights the wood grain. Two adjustable shelves create three generous compartments for books, ceramics, and collected objects, while the top offers room for a favorite lamp or sculpture. Its sculpted molding and recessed plinth base give this practical piece an understated presence. The back retains its “Champagne” marking and an inspection stamp dated October 25, 1955. Vintage condition with some wear from age and use; worn discolored area on lower left hand side (as pictured).
