This beautiful pair are presented as complementary mirrored compositions and framed under glass. Each vertical work depicts a lively gathering of birds among flowering branches and rocky outcroppings. Several birds cluster together near the power portion of each painting, while a single bird descends dramatically from above with wings fully extended. The opposing composition of the two scenes creates an effective sense of symmetry when the paintings are displayed as a pair. The birds are rendered with delineated plumage in shades of blue-gray, white, black, and muted green. Delicate flowering branches rise behind them in a palette of blue-green and coral providing an elegant contrast against he warm brown background. Painting are surrounded by a wide blue-black mat with lighter inner borders and gilt trimmed frames.
In modern interiors, these paintings would be especially effective hung as a pair, where their mirrored compositions can be fully appreciated. They will be beautiful flanking a doorway, fireplace, mirror, or tall cabinet. They will also be ideal above a long console or each hung over bedroom nightstands. They would complement Chinese, Chinoiserie, Asian-Inspired, Traditional, or Transitional interiors. See less
