The reverse is inscribed with Gu Kuang's Tang-dynasty 'Palace Poem' from the 300 Tang Poems, its imagery matched to the painted scene, with a studio inscription and seal; the inscribed cyclical date corresponds to 1923 or 1983. Republic style, 20th century.

Condition disclosures: the base was drilled at some point for conversion to a lamp (see the final two photos), and there are two hairline cracks confined to the underside of the base. Neither shows when the vase is displayed — the body, enamel, and rim present beautifully. This is a decorator-grade piece rather than a collector-grade one, and the price reflects that.

Dimensions: 19.7 in H x approx 9 in diameter; mouth approx 5.5 in. Weight approx 8 lb. See less
