This original 1975 hand-colored carborundum etching is titled "Petroleumhandlerens søn" (The Petroleum Merchant's Son) by the acclaimed Danish modernist artist Robert Jacobsen. Produced as part of a limited edition suite numbered 37/150, this authentic Scandinavian artwork represents a rare domestic acquisition opportunity within the United States market due to its primary concentration in European estates and auction houses. The piece demonstrates advanced mid-century printmaking techniques, combining a heavy intaglio plate impression with highly textured, raised black carborundum lines and contrasting color fields of blue and pink ink. Notable visual elements include raw cotton paper resist craters, prominent inked line work, and the artist's original pencil signature alongside the edition designation in the lower margins. The print is professionally presented in a minimalist metal frame paired with a textured fabric linen mat board. Frame shows minor wear commensurate with age - please see all photos and the video. The heavy handmade paper sheet and textile mat exhibit minor, age-typical cockling (waviness) consistent with natural environmental adaptation over time, which does not impact the integrity of the artwork and can be flattened by a professional framer if desired. Display ready rare collection piece.
