Woven in China from wool and cotton, the textile recreates the atmosphere of 17th-century European woodland tapestries, combining an expansive natural landscape with carefully arranged human figures, wildlife, and richly detailed ornamental borders.

The central composition depicts a peaceful yet active hunting landscape, with a hunter prominently positioned in the lower right foreground. Dressed in a red and cream striped garment with blue trousers and a coordinating hat, he sits beneath a large tree while holding a curved hunting horn.
