An exceptional early piece of American studio glass history by celebrated Czech-American artist Michael Pavlik (b. 1941). This hand-blown art glass vase showcases Pavlik's masterful command of hot-glass surface manipulation, pairing a deep, luminous translucent burnt red body with an intricate exterior network of layered cobalt blue, emerald green, and opalescent white glass trails.
The front and sides feature distinct, floating plum-cobalt heart motifs nested directly into the organic webbed patterns on the outer surface of the vessel. The top rim rolls into a dramatic wide collar, beautifully highlighting the rich interior coloration. The polished, flat underside base is cleanly wheel-engraved with the artist's full authentic signature, "Michael Pavlik".
About the Artist:

Renowned for his complex manipulation of hot glass and subsequent optical geometric sculptures, Pavlik’s early vessels are highly sought after by collectors. His works reside in major permanent public collections worldwide, including the Smithsonian American Art Museum and the Corning Museum of Glass.
