This vintage glazed ceramic leaf pitcher presents a full, rounded silhouette, with a plump belly that rises to a softly flared neck and a generously pinched pouring spout. Crafted from ceramic in the majolica tradition, the body is molded in deep relief with overlapping, veined leaves that wrap the entire vessel, their serrated edges and incised midribs creating a lush, tactile surface. Daisy-like blossoms with finely petaled centers are tucked among the foliage at the shoulder and belly, adding a delicate, botanical accent. The glaze is a deep, saturated emerald green that pools to darker forest tones in the recesses and lightens to a bright, grassy hue along the raised leaf edges, with a high, glassy gloss that catches the light across every curve. A sculpted strap handle, modeled to resemble bundled, twisted branches and bound with a knotted wrap at the top, is finished in a warm, chocolate-brown glaze that contrasts richly with the vivid green body. A wide, stable foot anchors the form. Fresh, tactile, and full of garden charm, the pitcher recalls the whimsical botanical wares of Victorian and mid-century majolica.
Place this pitcher on a kitchen counter, farmhouse table, open shelf, or sideboard, or use it as a vase for garden flowers, herbs, or branches. It complements Organic Modern, Cottage, Farmhouse, Grandmillennial, and Traditional interiors. To care for it, hand wash gently with mild soap and warm water, avoid soaking, dishwashers, and sudden temperature changes, and dry thoroughly to protect the glaze. The pitcher measures 7.75 inches (197 mm) wide, 5.25 inches (133 mm) deep, and 8 inches (203 mm) high. Condition is very good, with a vibrant glaze, minor surface wear consistent with age, an intact handle, and no visible chips or cracks. Add this charming piece to your table today.
