The vessel has a classic, flattened flask form with a short neck. The front panel depicts a renowned historical scene: an elderly scholar in a blue robe, holding a fan, gazing up at a pale moon while raising a small cup. A young attendant in an orange robe stands beside him, holding a green bottle. The background features stylized bamboo, craggy rocks, and a night sky. Calligraphy and red seal marks accompany the painting. The reverse side features a fan-shaped panel with calligraphy and a poem, surrounded by scattered gold flecks, simulating aged paper. The bottle is topped with a domed, deep pink (ruby or tourmaline colored) stopper set in a metal collar. A metal spoon is attached to the stopper.
