The rounded outer walls are banded in dense gilt scrollwork interrupted by smaller seated Chinthe in black reserves, and the bowls nest together. The set was acquired in the late 1950s to early 1960s by a US Foreign Service officer who served at American embassies from 1956 to the early 1980s, and it was kept in storage until now. A signed provenance statement accompanies the set, and documentation of the officer’s service is available on request. The bowls measure approximately 10 by 1.75 inches, 8 by 1.75 inches, and 6.5 by 1.5 inches (diameter by height). See less
