Introducing a limited set of two Model OD-61 counter-height barstools designed by the influential Erik Buch for the lauded Odense Møbelfabrik. With legs and frames constructed from solid slabs of Brazilian rosewood, replete with outstanding old-growth woodgrains, and re-upholstered leather seats this timeless design is ideal for collectors and designers alike searching for a rare set of rosewood model 61's.
Erik Buck (1923-1982) had over 30 commercially successful production designs over his career but none so famous as his Model 61 Bar stool designed in 1961 and formerly manufactured by Oddense Maskinsnedkeri A/S. His Model 49 dining chairs designed in 1949 saw equally impressive popularity and could be found in homes around the world and both models are still in production today by Danish cabinet makers.
Iconic and instantly recognizable these exquisite stools are the epitome of Danish Modern Design and can blend seamlessly against a myriad of design backdrops from Mid-Century Modern to Minimalism to Contemporary and everything in between. With so few of these stools produced in rosewood this set won't last long. Make them yours today before they're gone forever.

The solid rosewood legs show some nicks, scratches and light gouges and are mostly relegated to the feet and footrests (the worst of which can be seen in the detail photos provided). As purists, we strive to leave all of our pieces in as original condition as possible. However we do offer restoration services and a full carpentry shop which can professionally sand and refinish the rosewood on each stool. If this option interests you please message us prior to checkout as this service can require up to 12-14 days of lead time. The seats have been re-upholstered in a genuine Italian leather hide and has been hand-stitched in exact accordance with the original layout and scheme. The leather shows only the wear of once living animal. The foam was replaced with new medium density foam for maximum comfort and longevity. This truly one-of-a-kind set of OD-61 barstools is incredibly comfortable, structurally sound and ready for a literal lifetime more of use. Please view all photos and natural light video provided for details on this set's current condition. We're limited on the amount of media we can post so additional photos and videos are available upon request. less
