The simple, narrow top rests on straight legs with a full lower shelf, reflecting the practical, straightforward construction of traditional Chinese country furniture. Generations of use have softened the elm to a pale, weathered finish, highlighting the natural grain, worn edges, knots, and subtle imperfections that give the piece its authentic character.

The lower shelf provides useful additional space for baskets, books, pottery, or collected objects while keeping the overall form light and uncomplicated. Its compact size makes it especially versatile as an entry table, small console, or accent piece in a living room or hallway. The combination of simple lines, aged wood, and rustic texture works beautifully in Santa Fe, farmhouse, mountain modern, boho chic, or contemporary interiors.
