This vintage hand-painted vegetable ceramic pitcher presents a full, rounded silhouette, with a broad belly that rises to a generously flared pouring spout formed from a ruffled cabbage leaf. Crafted from ceramic, the body is molded in deep relief with a bountiful harvest: a plump ear of corn with rows of buttery yellow kernels, rosy tomatoes with star-shaped green calyxes, magenta-streaked radishes and turnips, and a deep aubergine eggplant, all nestled among crinkled, veined leaves in layered shades of apple and moss green. The strap handle is sculpted as a tapering orange carrot, its fine ridges and rootlet lines carried through with carefully brushed detail. The palette is fresh and saturated, with soft blushes of coral, plum, and cream gathering across the produce, while the glossy glaze lends each form a juicy, just-picked sheen. A scalloped, leafy rim finishes the opening with a playful flourish. Cheerful, tactile, and full of garden-fresh charm, the pitcher recalls the whimsical majolica-inspired kitchenware of mid-century country tables.
Place this pitcher on a kitchen counter, farmhouse table, open shelf, or sideboard, or use it as a vase for garden flowers, herbs, or utensils. It complements Farmhouse, Cottage, Country, Eclectic, and Grandmillennial interiors. To care for it, hand wash gently with mild soap and warm water, avoid soaking, dishwashers, and sudden temperature changes, and dry thoroughly to protect the glaze and hand-painted details. The pitcher measures 9 inches (229 mm) wide, 5.5 inches (140 mm) deep, and 7.75 inches (197 mm) high. Condition is very good, with a vibrant original glaze, minor surface wear consistent with age, and no visible chips, cracks, or repairs. Add this charming piece to your table today.
