When I first saw this, I thought wow. A striking postmodern art glass vase designed by acclaimed American glass artist Michael Scheiner for Dansk International Designs, circa 1980s.
This heavy, hand-blown piece features a brilliant two-tone construction consisting of a saturated cobalt blue upper body seamlessly joined to a vibrant emerald green tapered lower base. The thick, substantive glass beautifully catches and refracts the light, showcasing an incredibly clean, minimalist silhouette that blends Scandinavian modern aesthetics with a bold postmodern palette.
The underside features a polished pontil. This limited-production piece was executed in Romania by skilled glass artisans trained under Scheiner’s unique color-joining techniques. A stellar statement piece for a mantle, shelf, or tabletop vignette.
