A rare, monumental, and prestigious Italian high-modernist wall coat rack, attributed to the celebrated collaboration between Osvaldo Borsani and Lucio Fontana and dating to the 1950s and 1960s.
· Subject and Style: Impressive, vertical, tripartite architectural panel with fabric-covered backgrounds in shades of midnight blue and ochre yellow, interspersed with burgundy reeded wooden profiles; the top houses a glass hat rack on brass brackets, while the center features three sculptural coat hooks in textured, polychrome majolica with flowing drippings.
· Material and Finish: Wooden frame with fabric covering, shaped, polished gilded brass supports, solid clear glass shelf, and high-fired, artistic ceramic tiles; the back features a sturdy wooden frame with original metal brackets for wall mounting.
Ideal for: Stately entrances, designer interiors, design galleries, and collectors of the Borsani-Fontana artistic duo and 20th-century Italian art.

The three majolica sculptures are sound and intact, free of cracks or chips; the glass shelf is intact and the brass supports are secure; the rear frame is solid and sturdy; the fabric shows normal and visible signs of use and age consistent with its age and historical experience (including a superficial mark/scratch on the lower blue panel, highlighted in the detail shot). An extraordinary piece for its rarity and collectible value.
