A pair of gilt bronze and brass Rococo candlesticks, each rising to five lights.
The shaft of each piece is richly modelled with scrolling leaves and flowers. At the lower stem sits a putto: one holds a net, the other a horn. Above, five candle sockets with drip pans are carried on scrolling arms around a taller central nozzle.
The base is an open, pierced Rococo form with scrolled feet.
The pair is presented as an allegory of water, the net standing for summer and autumn, the horn for autumn and winter.
Each measures 68 × 37 cm.
