This charming 19th-century religious piece combines traditional Christian symbolism with the naturalistic ornamentation so admired during the Victorian era. The slender cross is richly decorated with sculptural botanical elements that wind around its arms and stem, creating a wonderfully dimensional composition. The warm, aged bronze finish, with subtle variations in patina and traces of verdigris, enhances its antique character and brings out the intricate details of the craftsmanship.

Measures approximately 8 inches high, 3.5 inches wide, and 0.50 inch deep. Its modest proportions make it particularly suitable for a private prayer space, devotional display, gallery wall, or collection of antique Christian religious artifacts. Its distinctive elongated form, decorative terminal fittings, and circular hanging loop at the top suggest it was intended for display as a devotional wall cross or religious ornament. Good antique condition with untouched aged patina to the metal. The vine overlay is wrapped on the cross not affixed, there is a light play to the overlay when engaged. Please review the photos for further condition assessment.

A meaningful and beautifully decorative piece of Victorian religious craftsmanship, equally appealing for its historical character, artistic detail, and rich spiritual symbolism. See less
