Standing a substantial 13.5 inches tall, this commanding ceramic artwork serves as a premier holiday statement piece, capturing a proud tom turkey in full strut. The sculpture features meticulously detailed, hand-molded feathers that create deep textural complexity beneath a vibrant, high-gloss tin-glazed finish. The rich artisan palette boasts a brilliant crimson wattle beautifully contrasted by earthy chocolate browns, warm ochres, and subtle forest green plumage.
Designed strictly as a freestanding, non-functional sculpture rather than a hollow tureen, the piece maintains a seamless, unbroken form that allows for flawless viewing from every angle. Its impressive scale makes it an ideal centerpiece for a Thanksgiving tablescape, grand buffet sideboard, or fireplace mantle. The underside of the unglazed earthenware base bears the authentic hand-painted 'Made in Italy' hallmark alongside an incised artisan mold number. A fantastic find for collectors, this piece beautifully exemplifies the whimsical sophistication of mid-century Italian animalier ceramics. See less
