At a versatile console height of 35" tall and spreading 48" wide, this piece is an interior decorator’s dream. It functions beautifully as an architectural backdrop resting on a dining room credenza, an entryway sideboard, or styled as a striking low focal element behind a formal sofa or accent vignette.

THE SCENERY & LITERARY HISTORY
The continuous narrative landscape depicts the iconic "Beauties of Grand View Garden" (Daguanyuan) from the revered 18th-century Chinese literary masterpiece, "Dream of the Red Chamber" (Hung Lou Meng). Each figure, pavilion archway, willow tree branch, and garden rock is hand-incised and relief-carved from natural soapstone variations (Pietra Dura), bringing incredible three-dimensional texture, structural depth, and organic shadow lines to the artwork.

REVERSIBLE DESIGN: THE "FOUR GENTLEMEN"
Expertly finished to be fully reversible for open room placement, the striking reverse side features a deep black lacquer finish decorated with hand-painted gold-gilt renderings of the "Four Gentlemen" of classical Chinese art (Plum Blossom, Chrysanthemum, Lotus, and Peony)—each symbolizing virtue, purity, and seasonal resilience. The bottom aprons of the front panels are further enriched with hand-painted motifs of peaches, pomegranates, and gourds, serving as traditional symbols of prosperity and longevity.

PREMIUM FOUNDATION & HARDWARE
Constructed on a heavy wood core with a high-gloss lacquer finish and heavy brass hinges. Every single panel base is securely anchored by its original, structural solid brass protective corner shoes, preserving the frame from floor friction and completing its luxury antique silhouette.
