The mirror plate has faint spotting in one area (see last photo). The handwoven rattan is free of breaks. The mirror sits inside of the frame (it is not glued down and this is how it was originally made). The x-piece rattan straps and the hammock design on the bottom backside keep the mirror in place. There is twine on the back for hanging. There is glue residue on the back where the rattan straps attach and I am assuming this is for reinforcement. I can't say if it is original to the mirror or not. I am happy to answer any questions you may have prior to purchase or to send more photos if needed. less
