The figure is portrayed with her head gently inclined, creating a graceful and contemplative expression. Roses woven through her hair and arranged across her draped clothing add a romantic quality to the sculpture, recalling the classical and Pre-Raphaelite imagery often associated with Ophelia. Finished in a warm terracotta colour, the bust has the appearance of traditional terracotta sculpture while its substantial stone composition makes it suitable for both indoor and outdoor display. Raised upon an integral square socle, it is ideally proportioned for placement on a pedestal, console, garden wall or amongst planting. It would make an attractive focal point within a classical garden, conservatory, entrance hall or traditional interior. Weighing approximately 7.3 kg, this is a substantial decorative sculpture despite its relatively compact proportions.
