The composition is rendered with a subtle and harmonious palette, employing fluid washes and expressive handling to create a delicate sense of light, depth and atmosphere. Rather than concentrating on precise detail, the artist uses colour and loosely defined forms to capture the overall character and mood of the landscape. The restrained treatment and spontaneous quality of the watercolour give the work an appealing impressionistic character, resulting in an attractive example of late 20th-century landscape painting. The watercolour is presented beneath glass within a wooden frame. Presented in good vintage condition, with appropriate signs of age consistent with its date and medium.
