Executed on an impressive square format, the composition combines heavy impasto, layered acrylic, collage and raw hessian or burlap, producing an exceptionally textured, almost sculptural surface. Thickly worked passages of pigment interact with exposed textile elements and layered materials, creating considerable depth and visual movement across the work. The restrained, earthy palette and deliberately raw materiality give the piece a strong Modernist and Brutalist character, while its substantial 95 cm square dimensions provide excellent architectural presence. The integration of hessian directly into the composition is particularly effective, introducing contrasting textures and reinforcing the experimental mixed-media quality of the work. Depending on the surrounding light, the raised surfaces create changing shadows that further emphasise its three-dimensional construction. The work is unsigned, but was acquired with an attribution to Peter Jackson and is believed to be by the artist. The attribution is therefore presented as such rather than as a confirmed authorship. A highly decorative statement artwork particularly suited to Modernist, Brutalist, mid-century, industrial and contemporary interiors, where its scale and heavily textured surface can be fully appreciated. Presented in very good vintage condition overall. There are age-related marks and some light staining, predominantly around the wrapped outer edges and perimeter of the canvas. The principal front-facing composition presents extremely well.
