Standing approximately 72 cm high and weighing around 24 lb (10.9 kg), the lamp has substantial presence. The composition centres on an elegant female dancer figure, characteristic of the stylised figural decoration that became synonymous with luxury French lighting during the Art Deco period. The sculptural bronze construction retains a rich, naturally aged patina, while the art glass globe provides a softer decorative contrast and produces an atmospheric glow when illuminated. The combination of classical figuration, theatrical movement and geometric Art Deco detailing makes this a particularly striking statement piece. The lamp retains period fittings including a B22 bayonet bulb fitting and Bakelite components and has been professionally rewired. Presented in beautiful period condition with natural age-related patination consistent with its age. with its exceptional scale, substantial weight and sculptural quality, this is as much a piece of decorative Art Deco sculpture as it is functional lighting, ideally suited to a console, substantial side table, entrance hall or sophisticated period interior.
