The upper section features a pair of panelled cupboard doors decorated with striking geometric detailing, opening to reveal a generously proportioned interior with a single shelf. The arrangement provides excellent concealed storage while forming an attractive and symmetrical façade. Below the cupboard are two practical drawers, each retaining its original iron handles. The dark metalwork provides an appealing contrast against the rich tones of the oak and enhances the traditional character of the piece. The cupboard is raised upon finely turned legs united by a substantial central stretcher, providing excellent strength and stability while contributing to its distinctive Jacobean-inspired silhouette. Particularly attractive is the oak itself, displaying pronounced natural grain and figuring throughout. Rich, warm colour and a mature patina developed through generations of age and use give the piece considerable depth and character. Solidly constructed and presented in very good antique condition, with appropriate signs of age and use consistent with its 19th-century origin. For easier transportation and installation, the cupboard separates into two principal sections. A substantial and highly decorative example of Jacobean Revival furniture, offering generous storage and considerable period character. Ideally suited to a dining room, drawing room, hallway or country-house interior. Dimensions: Height: 145 cm Width: 111 cm Depth: 53.5 cm See less
