The square top displays an elaborate symmetrical composition centred around a circular floral medallion, surrounded by finely detailed scrolling foliage, stylised botanical motifs and geometric borders. The dense decorative work contrasts beautifully against the natural warmth and grain of the rosewood, creating an exceptionally ornamental surface. The table is raised on four short turned legs, each finished with complementary inlaid detailing. Traditionally, tables of this form are used in India as puja chowkis for displaying sacred objects during worship and ceremonial occasions, although its decorative quality also makes it suitable as a low display table, plant stand or decorative accent piece. A charming example of traditional Indian decorative craftsmanship combining practical form with highly detailed ornamentation.
