Antonio Possenti Garden of Eden Playhouse, Construction (wood, cardboard, terracotta, and fabric), 46 x 44 x 26 cm, e.g. P.A. This work was produced on behalf of Renault Italia in a run of 400 numbered copies signed by the artist. This is copy number 261/400.
Made of wood, cardboard, terracotta, and fabric, it depicts the artist's dreamlike vision (typical of his work) of the Garden of Eden. Once assembled, the playhouse occupies a space of approximately 45 x 26 x 45 cm. Once disassembled, all the components fit inside the box (which is also painted), which measures 45 x 26 x 7.5 cm.
Also includes a cover letter from Antonio Ghini (automotive journalist).
In very good overall condition. Playhouse complete.
These "artist games" were created by Renault Italy starting in 1980 as an exclusive marketing campaign to attract potential customers to dealerships for the launch of the brand's new car models. A plastic key was purchased through some newspapers of the time. Once brought to the dealership, the key gave the chance to win prizes if the key could start a car being tested at that time (the first prize, of course, was the car itself).
