This exquisite piece exemplifies the refined aesthetic of early 20th-century Chinese weaving. Its deep indigo field provides a striking backdrop for the stylized floral elements, characteristic of the period when Chinese artisans began adapting traditional motifs for Western markets. It is a superb example of antique rugs.

The saturated wool pile showcases a magnificent, almost midnight blue color rugs, which dominates the central panel. This expansive, uncluttered field is a hallmark of the Peking style, allowing the scattered floral clusters—rendered in soft cream and pale azure—to float gracefully, emphasizing negative space over dense pattern repetition.

A wide, luminous beige border frames the composition, providing a necessary contrast to the deep field. This border is intricately detailed with meandering vines and stylized blossoms, executed in contrasting dark outlines and subtle shading, lending the piece a sophisticated, graphic quality often associated with Art Deco sensibilities.

Given its narrow rectangular format, this rug is perfectly suited for hallways, landings, or as a distinctive accent piece. Its dimensions place it firmly within the category of Small Scatter Size Rugs (2.08ft x 6ft), offering versatility without compromising the visual impact of its elegant design and historical provenance.
