The circular coaster combines a warm wood-grain center insert with an ornate silver-plated gallery featuring repeating Gothic-inspired pointed arches and geometric openwork. The contrast between the warm wood tones and aged silverplate gives the piece an especially handsome decorative presence.

The silver-plated gallery has developed a rich patina that accentuates its intricate architectural detailing.
