This striking vintage porcelain lidded jar features a classic, broad-shouldered baluster form. The vessel is decorated with vibrant underglaze cobalt blue against a pristine white ground. The main body is dominated by a dynamic, ferocious dragon winding through stylized, scrolling clouds. The lower section depicts a lively scene of a carp leaping from turbulent, crashing waves—a traditional motif symbolizing success and perseverance. The short neck is encircled by a geometric band of upright blue lappets. The flat, unglazed rim and recessed base show a natural, slightly textured finish. The accompanying lid is decorated with stylized clouds and is included but sits flat atop the jar.
