This charming vintage porcelain lidded jar features a classic, slightly squat "lotus seed" form with a domed cover. The vessel is crafted from fine white porcelain and decorated with vibrant underglaze cobalt blue against a white ground. The body is divided into large, framed circular and polygonal panels (known as "open window" decoration). Inside the main panels, detailed figural scenes are depicted, showing traditional figures interacting in a stylized landscape with bamboo, rocks, and architectural elements. The spaces between the panels are decorated with distinctive, stylized scrolling motifs and geometric borders. A band of upright blue lappets decorates the neck, matching the rim of the domed lid, which is also painted with figural imagery.
