This delightful jar features a stout, rounded body and is topped with a domed lid finished with a prominent gold finial (knob) and a gold rim. The piece is exquisitely hand-painted in the traditional Famille Rose (Fencai) palette.
The main body showcases a lively and continuous traditional Chinese motif known as "Baby Play". It depicts five joyful children in brightly colored, flowing robes playing in a garden setting beneath pine trees. The scene is full of movement—children are playing instruments, holding a lantern with the auspicious Chinese character "吉" (Ji, meaning luck or auspiciousness), and interacting playfully. This motif symbolizes fertility, joy, and good fortune. The lid is painted with complementary landscape and pine tree details, creating a harmonious piece.
